Kawkab Marrakech

Hadj Idriss Talbi founded the club on 20 September 1947. It stayed amateur until 1984, when Mohammed Mediouri took over as president and pushed it toward professionalism, a shift that paid off twelve years later. In 1996, under coach Abdelkader Youmi, Kawkab reached the final of the CAF Cup against Tunisia's ES Sahel, lost the away leg 3-1, then won 2-0 at home to take the trophy on away goals.

Two league titles, in 1958 and 1992, sit either side of a long gap, and the six Moroccan Throne Cups include a run of three in a row between 1963 and 1965. Two Botola Pro 2 titles, in 2012-13 and again in 2024-25, mark the club's more recent story as one of dropping down and climbing back rather than staying among Morocco's leading sides.

None of that matters more in Marrakech than the derby with Mouloudia Marrakech.
