Magdeburg II

The title that mattered most to Magdeburg's reserves came in 2007, when they beat MSV 90 Preussen 3-0 in the Saxony-Anhalt Cup final. The first had come in 2000 against VfL Halle 96, and it took more effort: 3-2.

The next trophy came in 2022/23, when they won the Verbandsliga Sachsen-Anhalt. They then moved up through the NOFV-Oberliga Süd, which they won in 2024/25. That result took them to the Regionalliga Nordost, the fourth tier, for 2025/26.

Its structure has shifted over the years through mergers and re-establishments, with SC Aufbau Magdeburg II among its predecessors. The parent club, 1. FC Magdeburg, was formed in 1965 when the football section split from SC Magdeburg. Both teams wear blue and white and use the same crest. The reserves play at the Heinrich-Germer-Stadion in Sudenburg, which holds 4,990.
