The club takes its name from the Chapel of the Virgin Mary Karmiotissa in Pano Polemidia, the community it has represented since 1979, and turns out in orange, shirt, shorts and socks alike.
Stavros Demosthenous presided over the club from 2023 until he was killed in Limassol on 17 October 2025.
Karmiotissa has no single fixture carrying the weight of a derby name, but Limassol leaves it no shortage of opponents. Aris Limassol and Apollon Limassol represent the city's established weight, while Spartakos Kitiou and ENY Ypsonas sit closer to Karmiotissa's own standing.
