Sassuolo Women

The Stadio Enzo Ricci seats 4,008 and belongs to a town of Sassuolo's size.

That takeover explains most of what the team is today. The women's section began in 1976 as Santa Croce, later became Reggiana Calcio Femminile, and stayed in that lineage until the men's club bought it and rebranded it as Sassuolo Femminile. It took on the men's sporting title and history along with the badge. The switch from azure to black and green came in the 2019–20 season, when the team adopted the parent club's colours. Supporters also call the side "Sasòl", the dialect name for the town.

The best league result came in 2020–21, when Sassuolo finished third in Serie A Women. They have won none of the senior trophies (the league, the Coppa Italia or the Supercoppa Italiana).

Lana Clelland carries much of the recent attention. The Scottish striker reached 100 career Serie A goals in 2025. Gian Loris Rossi took over as head coach for 2024–25, succeeding Gianpiero Piovani.

Modena and Ravenna are the nearest rivals, and the Modena game is billed as a derby.
