SC Braga B

The Estádio Amélia Morais holds 2,500 people and only opened in 2025, replacing the old Estádio 1º de Maio as the ground where Braga's reserve team plays out its matches away from the noise of the senior side's stadium across town.

Braga B has lived two separate lives. It first took the field in 1999 and lasted until 2006, when Portuguese football stopped reserve sides from playing in the second tier and the parent club judged the squad too costly to keep running. The Portuguese Football Federation then rewrote its rules to let B teams from Primeira Liga clubs into the professional pyramid, so long as promotion to the top flight stayed off the table, and Braga brought the side back on 28 May 2012, sending it out for the 2012–13 Segunda Liga season.

The team's own record in that competition never rose above 16th, and relegation to the Campeonato de Portugal followed in 2019. It found its way back into professional football through Liga 3, competing there since 2021–22, and last season finished fourth in Série A before losing its way in the promotion play-offs.

No trophy has come the club's way.

Braga B wears the same red and white as the first team and answers to the same nicknames, "Os Arcebispos" among them, sharing too the rivalry with Vitória de Guimarães that Minho football calls the Derby do Minho. What it does not share is the parent club's stage: its own games stay at the Amélia Morais, in front of 2,500 people at most, in Braga.
