Utsikten

Utsikten comes from Västra Frölunda, a district on the western side of Gothenburg, and the club's name, "Utsikten", is what locals still call it. It was founded on 3 May 1935. Its official nickname is Kiken, and it plays in black and white.

For most of its existence it was a district club, and the climb began late. In 2006 it won Division 4 B Göteborg. A year later it won Division 3 Nordvästra Götaland. It then needed four more seasons to take Division 2 Västra Götaland in 2011. In 2014 it won Division 1 Södra and went up to the Superettan, the second tier. It won Ettan Södra again in 2021, and that title took it back to the Superettan.

The best season so far is 2023. Utsikten finished third in the Superettan and qualified for the promotion play-off to Allsvenskan, where it lost to IF Brommapojkarna.

Its old ground, Ruddalens IP, holds somewhere between 3,000 and 5,000. In the Superettan the club has often played at Bravida Arena, also known as Nordic Wellness Arena, which seats 6,316. The city's other clubs are the natural opponents. Örgryte IS is the derby, and GAIS and IFK Göteborg are also on the list of local rivals.
