Vratimov

Vratimov's senior side plays its football in the regional leagues of the Moravian-Silesian Region: in 2021 a licence dispute at parent club MFK Frýdek-Místek put the senior team in Vratimov's hands, and for one season, 2021/22, the town fielded a team in the third-tier Moravian-Silesian Football League before the licence was sold on and the club reverted to its own name and its own level.

That level has still produced its moments. Vratimov won the Moravian-Silesian Regional I.A Class in 2016/17 and followed it with a runner-up finish in the regional championship in 2022/23.

The club traces back to December 1929, when it was founded as SK Meteor Vratimov, and the decades since have left it with a chain of names rather than a single identity: Tatran, VRATPAP, Biocel, each change tracking a change of sponsor or political era before the club settled, in 2009, on the plain FC Vratimov it carries now. Green and black remain the colours throughout.

Matches against TJ Řepiště carry the weight of a proper derby, sharpened by the closeness of the two towns; FK Havířov supplies the other fixture Vratimov's supporters circle on the calendar.

Among those who have worn the shirt, Adam Varadi stands out from the rest: a player with more than 150 Czech First League appearances for Baník Ostrava and Viktoria Plzeň behind him, who turned out for Vratimov during that one third-tier season in 2021/22.
