Australia A in New Zealand 2023/24

The Australia A in New Zealand series is a developmental cricket fixture arranged between the two countries’ second-tier national sides. Organised by Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket, the tour is not part of a permanent tournament structure but is scheduled during windows when senior teams are resting. It acts as a bridge between domestic competitions, the Sheffield Shield and the Plunket Shield, and the full international level.

Matches are classified as First-Class or List A, though they carry an "unofficial" designation and do not count for ICC ranking points. There is no permanent trophy named for the contest, unlike the senior Trans-Tasman or Chappell-Hadlee Trophies. The format typically involves two four-day matches and three 50-over games, although the exact schedule shifts depending on the host nation.

The rivalry benefits from geographical proximity, allowing for frequent bilateral preparation that other nations struggle to replicate.
