The Bangladesh Cricket League One-Day tournament is a List A competition organised by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). It runs alongside the First-Class version of the same league, featuring four zonal sides: Central Zone, East Zone, North Zone and South Zone. Each squad is assembled from players drawn from two neighbouring administrative divisions rather than a single region.
The competition operates independently of promotion or relegation, designed to supply additional high-standard matches for domestic cricketers. The structure typically follows a round-robin group stage before concluding with a final between the top two finishers, although earlier iterations employed double round-robins without a knockout phase.
In the One-Day format, North Zone emerged as the most recent dominant force, securing titles in 2022–23 and 2023–24. East claimed the most recent First-Class championship in 2023–24, while South Zone holds the record for the most First-Class titles with six wins. The tournament was suspended for the 2024–25 season but is scheduled to resume in 2025–26.
Unlike the National Cricket League, which features eight divisional teams, the BCL relies on a zonal structure. It also differs from the Bangladesh Premier League, which is a Twenty20 franchise competition involving overseas players. The BCL teams are sponsored by banks, such as Islami Bank for East Zone, but do not operate as independent franchises.
Competition fixtures and results are published through the official Bangladesh Cricket Board website, tigercricket.com.bd, alongside updates regarding the league’s return for the upcoming season.
