Bangladesh Women in Zimbabwe ODIs 2021/22

The Bangladesh Women in Zimbabwe ODIs is not a standing annual competition or a league with a founding date, but rather a sporadic bilateral cricket series between the national teams of Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. The series is organized by the respective national boards: the Bangladesh Cricket Board and Zimbabwe Cricket. The teams have met in bilateral ODI series only twice in their history. The first occurred in November 2015, when Zimbabwe Women toured Bangladesh for a two-match ODI series in Cox’s Bazar; Bangladesh won the series 2-0. The second and most recent series took place from November 10 to November 15, 2021, in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, at the Queens Sports Club. This was a three-match ODI series, which served as final preparation for both teams ahead of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2021/22, hosted by Zimbabwe. Bangladesh Women won the 2021 series 3-0, with match results being 8-wicket, 9-wicket, and 7-wicket victories respectively. Notable performances included Murshida Khatun as the top run-scorer and Nahida Akter as the top wicket-taker, who took 5/21 in the final match. This series was also significant as a trial run for the return of spectators to Zimbabwean stadiums post-pandemic. The teams are distinguished from multi-team tournaments like the ICC World Cup Qualifier; this is a direct bilateral agreement. Zimbabwe Women gained full ODI status in April 2018, making the 2021 series their first bilateral ODI series as a full-status team, although they had played ODIs against Bangladesh in 2015. Bangladesh Women have held ODI status since November 2011. There is no promotion or relegation associated with this series, as it is a bilateral fixture rather than a tiered league structure.
