About

ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Region Final serves as the decisive stage for African cricket nations to secure spots in the global tournament, organized by the International Cricket Council. This event differs from the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2, which is a multi-year One Day International league for the 50-over World Cup. It is also distinct from the Global Qualifier, a tournament involving teams from all regions.

For the 2026 World Cup cycle, the 2025 Africa Regional Final was held in Harare, Zimbabwe. The tournament featured eight teams, including Namibia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Malawi, and Botswana. The format consisted of two groups of four teams, with the top two from each group advancing to semi-finals. Zimbabwe defeated Namibia by 7 wickets to win the tournament, with both teams qualifying directly for the 2026 event alongside host nation South Africa. Historically, Namibia has been the most successful team in the modern iteration of this qualifier, winning the tournaments in 2019, 2021, and 2023.

The qualification pathway involves Sub-Regional Qualifiers, where the top two teams from each group are promoted to the Africa Regional Final. There is no relegation system from the Regional Final. The tournament is distinct from the Africa Cup of Nations, which is a football tournament and unrelated to cricket.
