About

Inter State Women's One Day Competition, officially the Senior Women's One-Day Trophy, stands as the premier List A domestic cricket tournament for women in India. Established in the 2006–07 season by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), it succeeded the Senior National Women's Cricket Championship, which concluded in 2002–03. The event occupies the top tier of the Indian domestic one-day structure, operating separately from the multi-day Ranji Trophy and the Twenty20 Senior Women's T20 Challenge.

The competition involves state associations and zonal teams, with a structure that has evolved significantly over time. Participation currently encompasses approximately 37 teams split into an Elite group and a Plate group. The format typically begins with a group stage featuring a single round-robin, followed by a knockout phase comprising quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final. In the 2024–25 season, 38 teams competed across five groups, with the leading sides advancing to the knockout stages.

Promotion and relegation operate between the Elite and Plate groups under recent BCCI regulations. For the 2025–26 season, the top team from the Plate group is promoted to the Elite group, while the bottom team from the Elite group is relegated, resulting in a net change of one team. Railways holds the record for success, having won the title 15 times as of the 2023–24 season, including four consecutive titles from 2020–21 to 2023–24. Madhya Pradesh won its maiden title in the 2024–25 season by defeating Bengal in the final.

Notable individual achievements include Shweta Sehrawat of Delhi, who scored the highest individual total of 242 runs in the 2023–24 season, breaking the previous record. The tournament remains distinct from the Senior Women's T20 Challenge in both format, with 50 overs, and participant structure, although both are organized by the BCCI. The competition continues to serve as a vital platform for developing women’s cricket talent within the country.
