Namibia T20 Tri-Series is a recurring international Twenty20 International cricket tournament hosted by Cricket Namibia. It functions as a bilateral and multilateral series rather than a standalone domestic league. The competition frequently serves as part of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 qualification pathway, specifically for the 2024–2026 cycle leading to the 2027 World Cup. This distinguishes it from permanent regional leagues, as the participants vary by edition and often align with other teams in the ICC World Cup League 2 structure.
The tournament format consists of a round-robin league where each of the three participating teams plays every other team twice, resulting in six matches total. There are no knockout stages; the winner is determined by the points table, with tie-breakers based on Net Run Rate. Unlike domestic competitions such as the Namibia Cricket League or the CSA T20 Challenge, the series does not have internal promotion or relegation. Its results contribute to the global ICC rankings and World Cup League 2 standings, which dictate qualification for the World Cup Qualifier Play-off.
The 2024 edition involved Namibia, the United Arab Emirates, and the USA. The T20I leg was played at the Wanderers Cricket Ground in Windhoek. In this event, the United Arab Emirates won the tournament with 6 points, finishing ahead of the USA on Net Run Rate. Namibia finished last with 0 points. Notable records from the 2024 series include Muhammad Waseem scoring the most runs and reaching 2,000 T20I career runs, while Muhammad Jawadullah took the most wickets.
The tournament was first held in 2022, featuring Namibia, Jersey, and the USA. The 2024 event included both ODI and T20I legs. The series is distinct from other competitions because its primary purpose is to aid teams in securing their place in the global cricket hierarchy through the World Cup qualification process.
