The Pondicherry T20 Tournament, formally recognised as the Siechem Pondicherry T20 League, operates as a state-level domestic cricket competition within the Union Territory of Puducherry. Organised by the Cricket Association of Pondicherry (CAP), the event serves as a dedicated platform for local players, standing apart from the official BCCI domestic pyramid which includes the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
The tournament features six franchise-style teams owned by the CAP: Tigers XI, Bulls XI, Tuskers XI, Panthers XI, Lions XI, and Sharks XI. These squads represent distinct zones or districts across the territory. The structure remains fixed annually with no promotion or relegation system in place.
Matches follow a double round-robin league format where every team plays its opponents twice, generating 30 league games. The top four sides advance to a knockout phase comprising two semi-finals and a final, concluding a series that spans approximately 17 to 18 days. The competition is sponsored by Siechem Technologies, which accounts for its alternative name. Broadcasting rights are managed through the FanCode app rather than traditional television networks.
Historical success favours Panthers XI, who secured the title three times in a row during 2021, 2022, and 2023. In 2024, Tigers XI claimed the championship after defeating Tuskers XI in the decisive match. Individual achievements within the league include Mohit Mittan scoring 84 runs off 39 balls for Sharks XI in 2023, while Yash Jadhav finished as the leading run-scorer in 2021 with 124 runs.
The inaugural edition took place in November 2020 at the Siechem Stadium in Puducherry. It launched as a bio-bubble event amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Later, the 2025 edition faced suspension due to legal disputes and intervention by the Lieutenant Governor concerning stadium construction projects.
