Pondicherry T20 Tournament (India) 2022/23

The Pondicherry T20 Tournament is a domestic T20 cricket competition organized by the Cricket Association of Puducherry (CAP). First held in 2021, it functions as a development platform for local players rather than a direct feeder for national trophies. The event is distinct from the official Puducherry State Team that competes in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Six franchise-style teams participate in the competition: Tigers XI, Bulls XI, Tuskers XI, Panthers XI, Lions XI, and Sharks XI. CAP owns these clubs, and there is no promotion or relegation system. Matches are played at the Cricket Association Puducherry Siechem Ground. The tournament format has evolved over time. Earlier editions in 2021 and 2022 used a double round-robin league stage followed by semi-finals and a final. More recent editions have shifted to a single round-robin league stage followed by an IPL-style playoff format involving a Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and Final. Panthers XI is the most successful team, having won the inaugural three editions in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Lions XI won the 2025 edition, defeating Tigers XI in the final. Tigers XI also won the 2022 and 2024 editions. The tournament is sponsored by BYJU'S and Siechem. The official website of the organizing body is cap-cricket.com.
