Saurashtra Premier League (India) 2023/24

The Saurashtra Premier League is a regional Twenty20 cricket competition in India, organized by the Saurashtra Cricket Association. It serves as a domestic platform for players from the Saurashtra and Kutch regions of Gujarat. The league is affiliated with the Board of Control for Cricket in India through the SCA, distinguishing it from private commercial ventures.

The tournament features five franchise teams, each representing a specific historical region within Saurashtra: Sorath Lions, Gohilwad Gladiators, Halar Heroes, Kutch Warriors, and Zalawad Royals. The format consists of a round-robin group stage where teams play each other, followed by a final between the top two qualifiers. Matches are played in the T20 format, typically during the summer months. There is no promotion or relegation system; the league operates on a closed franchise model.

As of the 2023 season, no team has won the title more than once. The winners are: Sorath Lions (2019), Halar Heroes (2022), and Kutch Warriors (2023). Gohilwad Gladiators have been runners-up twice (2022, 2023). The SPL is distinct from the Gujarat Premier League, which was a short-lived, private commercial tournament held in 2018 that featured international stars and was not BCCI-affiliated. The SPL is considered an official part of the BCCI domestic calendar, aimed at talent development. In 2025, the SPL was replaced by the Saurashtra Pro T20 League, which maintains a similar franchise structure. Notable players who have participated include Cheteshwar Pujara and Jaydev Unadkat. The primary venue for the league is the SCA Stadium in Rajkot.
