Mura and Aluminij met at Mesti Stadion Fazaneria in the ninth round of the First League of Slovenia, and the visitors left with a comprehensive 1-6 win. The hosts took an early lead through R. Ramsak, but Aluminij responded with six goals in what proved to be a one-sided affair.
Ramsak struck in the sixth minute, and for a while Mura looked comfortable enough to hold on. But Aluminij came back harder, with D. Simunic finding the net in the 34th minute and P. Petrisko converting a penalty shortly before half-time. By then, the match had already slipped away from the home side.
Aluminij kept pushing after the break. V. Tezak added a fourth in the 53rd minute, and B. Proleta made it five in the 63rd. Mura tried to respond but could only manage substitutions, bringing on F. Sana, N. Kasalo and others as the deficit grew. B. Osuji and M. Mladenovic rounded off the scoring in the final minutes.
Mura dominated possession at 61%, but that meant nothing when Aluminij converted seven of ten shots on target. The hosts registered 56 attacks and four shots on target, while Aluminij managed 37 attacks and seven on target — yet it was the visitors who scored five times from those efforts.
And here's the thing: we had backed an away win with 43% confidence before kick-off. To be fair, the numbers suggested Aluminij would be clinical if given the chance. They simply didn't miss.
The result moves Aluminij up to sixth place on 12 points from nine games, while Mura remain ninth with just eight. Two wins, two draws and five losses — a season that has not gone to plan for the hosts.
