About the player
Maicon joined the Portuguese club in 2009 and stayed for seven seasons, winning three Primeira Liga titles, two Portuguese Cups, five Portuguese Super Cups and the UEFA Europa League in 2010–11. In 2012 he was named Porto's Player of the Year.
A return to Brazil with São Paulo in 2016 was followed by another move abroad, to Galatasaray in Turkey. From there he went out on loan to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, where he won the Saudi Pro League and the Saudi Super Cup, scoring the decisive penalty in the shootout that settled that final. He later signed for Al-Nassr permanently before returning to Brazilian football in 2021.
The following years took him back to Cruzeiro, then to Santos and Vasco da Gama. He is expected to sign with Coritiba permanently once his contract at Vasco expires.
