Second-tier football at the Erzincan 13 Şubat Şehir Stadyumu. 24 Erzincanspor took its current name on 5 August 2015, having started out in 1984 as Refahiyespor, a side from the Refahiye district, before rebranding as Erzincan Refahiyespor and then adopting the city's own identity. It presents itself as successor to the original Erzincanspor, which had carried the name since 14 February 1968 and folded under financial strain in 2014.

In the 1979–80 Türkiye Kupası it beat Giresunspor, Gençlerbirliği and Sakaryaspor in succession before losing in the quarter-finals to Adana Demirspor, and in 1997–98 it fell in the promotion play-off semi-finals for the 1. Lig, beaten 4–1 after extra time by Sakaryaspor following a goalless draw. Four times it won the 3. Lig outright, in 1984–85, 1994–95, 2000–01 and 2005–06, each title good for promotion.

Erzincanspor's darkest year had nothing to do with results: in 1997 the team bus crashed near Ankara, killing executive Cengiz Özker and player Cumhur Alan.

The stadium itself was pulled down in 2018 and rebuilt, reopening in August 2022 with 12,981 seats. Matches against Elazığspor are still billed locally as the Doğu Derbisi, the Eastern Derby. 24 Erzincanspor, in red and black, now carries that fixture and that ground into a 2. Lig campaign of its own.
