The championship came only once, in 1983, and it belonged to a club that no longer exists under that name in any continuous sense. That Anilana Łódź, built from a factory sports society first registered in 1948 as KS Chemia before passing through the name Unia, had already collected two Polish Cups, in 1973 and 1977, before reaching the top of the league. Andrzej Szymczak guarded that goal, an Olympic bronze medallist from 1976 whose reputation in Łódź handball still outlasts most of what the club has done since. Money and administration gave out in 1997, and the side was dissolved.

What plays today is a different registration. Founded in 2001 as UKS Elektronik, the club took the name Anilana in 2008, a decision to carry an old identity forward rather than a continuation of it. The senior team now competes in the Liga Centralna.

Games against CHKS Łódź still draw the city's attention as the Derby Łodzi, a fixture that outlived the club that used to contest one side of it. Anilana train and play at their own Hala Sportowa UKS Anilana, a modest hall holding a thousand people, in blue and white.
