Fredericia HK Women

Fredericia's handball club took shape in 1990, when Fredericia KFUM merged with FFF, and for years it carried the label Fredericia Håndboldklub af 1990 before dropping the tag in 2017. It runs on the licence of Fredericia KFUM, a name that once mattered a great deal in Danish handball: five championships between 1975 and 1979, plus seven cup wins across the 1970s and into 1982, all won long before the current club existed under its own banner.

The women's side has yet to build anything close to that record. It plays in the 1. Division after winning the 2. Division title in 2024–25, a promotion that gave the club its first honour with the current name attached. Eline Osland and Katrine Langfeldt are among the players carrying that side now; Annette Wirén Larsen, capped for the Danish national team, spent time here around 2009 and 2010.

Meetings with KIF Kolding still carry the weight of a derby. The men's team, playing in the top-flight Herrehåndboldligaen, trains and competes under the same black-and-white colours that earned Fredericia KFUM the nickname De Sorte.

Home matches for the women's team are not played in Fredericia itself but across the water in Middelfart, at the Middelfart Sparekasse Arena.
