The one title that mattered came in the 1991/92 season, when the club, still playing as VTJ Senica, won the West Group of the 2. Slovenská národná hokejová liga and earned promotion to the top flight. Liga from 1993/94, by which point it carried the name HC Dukla Senica, through to 2016/17. A second-place finish in 2001/02 and a bronze medal in 2011/12 marked the high points of that run; a seventh-place finish in 2016 marked its end, when the club sold its league licence to HK 36 Skalica and dropped down, continuing for a time as HK 91 Senica.

The Dukla name and badge sat unused until four local enthusiasts, Pavol Krutý, Jozef Lukáč, Ľubomír Vaškovič and Peter Fajnor, registered a new entity under the old identity on 31 December 2021. The revived club started again in the 2. Liga for the 2022/23 season, effectively at the bottom of the pyramid.

Senica's derby is with Skalica, ten kilometres up the road, and the fixture is known locally as the Záhorie derby after the region both towns sit in. Liga years stayed within Slovak hockey.

The rebuilt Dukla finished second in the 2.
