Liv-Stine Eckardt stands between the posts for a team still learning how to survive at the level it fought so hard to reach. Solingen's women play under the FrauenPower name.

Liga West in 2018/19 to reach the 2. Bundesliga. Four years later it went further still: the 2022/23 title lifted Solingen into the Bundesliga for the first time in the club's history. The stay lasted a single season. Relegation followed in 2023/24, sending the team back down to the division it had already conquered once.

That same season brought the club's best cup run, a run to the DHB-Pokal quarter-finals before TuS Metzingen ended it.

The city named the team its Team of the Year in 2023, echoing an honour it had first received back in 1994. Getting there again, and staying, remains the unfinished business.
