Pogoń Szczecin only became the current independent entity in 2007, after operating for years as a section under other names; between 2010 and 2015 it played as Gaz-System Pogoń Szczecin before the sponsor changed again.

Home matches are played at a hall built for far more than handball crowds. Arena Szczecin, known locally at various points as Netto Arena or Enea Arena depending on who is sponsoring it, holds 7,055 across 5,055 fixed and 2,000 movable seats — a scale that dwarfs the club's older base at Hala MOSRiR, which seats around 730 and still serves as a secondary venue.

Pogoń competes in the Polish Superliga and the Polish Cup, and its presence in Szczecin now runs alongside the far more widely known football club of the same name, the two sharing a city identity rather than an origin. For a side that spent its first decades passing between sponsors' names, 7,055 is the number that finally belongs to the city rather than to whoever was paying that year.
