A first win in the second-tier league arrived in October 2025, when Trondheim TH beat Stavanger 33–29 — the club's maiden victory since stepping up from the third division. Before that the ledger read as a season of learning: promotion in 2023/24 came off an unbeaten group stage, and the follow-up campaign in the 1. Division ended with a 10th-place finish, a debut that asked more questions than it answered.

The club exists because three neighbours decided Trondheim needed one team where it had none. Sverresborg, Charlottenlund and Klæbu pooled their handball ambitions into a single project in 2023, and the Norwegian Sports Federation certified the resulting entity under its Rent Idrettslag scheme on 1 July 2024. What colours the side takes onto the court is not settled the way it is at older clubs — Sverresborg's red and white and the blue and white shared by Charlottenlund and Klæbu still sit behind it, unresolved into a single identity.

Husebyhallen, out in Saupstad, is home more often than not, though matches occasionally shift to Åsveihallen when the calendar demands it. There is no old enemy across town waiting on the fixture list; the nearest thing to friction is Byåsen Håndball Elite, met in qualification rounds rather than in any settled rivalry, a reminder that this is still a club working out who its opponents will become.

Growth like this rarely has a single face yet, but the Stavanger scoreline belongs to the group that took the court that October night — the first Trondheim TH side to leave a top-flight-adjacent match with the points, in a division the club had occupied for barely a season.
