Unia Oświęcim

When Unia Oświęcim's players lifted the Polish Championship trophy in the 2023-24 season, it marked their first title since 2003-04. That earlier one, in 2003-04, had been the final instalment of a run of seven straight championships won between 1998 and 2004 — a stretch that also brought both of the club's Polish Cups, in 2000 and 2002.

The fall came in 2008, when the club dropped out of the top flight after seventeen consecutive seasons there.

Founded in 1957, the club has changed its name repeatedly to reflect sponsors over the decades, though supporters have kept calling the team Uniści, and its white-and-blue colours have not moved. The fixture against Cracovia is known as the Derby Małopolski, the sharpest of Unia's rivalries alongside meetings with GKS Katowice and Podhale Nowy Targ. Home games are played in front of a few thousand people at the Hala Lodowa MOSiR in Oświęcim, the town whose name the club has carried since it first took the ice.
