Ammed defeated Erzurum BB 3:0 at Seyrantepe Sports Complex Stadium on Sunday, winning their first regular season meeting in the Süper Lig. Dia Saba opened the scoring in the fifty-third minute before adding a second nine minutes later, and Gökhan Gül secured the result with a goal in the seventieth. By then the hosts had already established control, though Erzurum BB held possession for most of the game.
And here's the thing about this match — the visitors had more of the ball but Ammed's efficiency was stark. Dia Saba's brace proved decisive, while a VAR-approved goal from Gökhan Gül completed the scoring. The visitors' lone effort on target was saved by Alban Lafont, while the home keeper made just one save of his own.
The statistics tell a story of wasted possession. Erzurum BB enjoyed 54 per cent of the ball and registered 105 attacks, yet created zero big chances and had an expected goals total of 0.23. Ammed, with 46 per cent possession and 89 attacks, generated 1.5 expected goals and five shots on target. To be fair, the visitors did work the channels with 20 crosses, but only three landed successfully.
Ammed's defensive structure was evident in their 17 clearances and 15 successful tackles, while the visitors managed just 16 clearances and ten successful tackles. The home side won 12 aerial duels, matching their opponents, and completed 384 passes compared to Erzurum BB's 440. But the key pass count — nine for Ammed against three for the visitors — revealed where the real threat lay.
Substitutions came thick and fast in the second half. Mbaye Diagne and Fernando Andrade both came on for Ammed in the sixty-fourth minute, while Cem Üstündag and Sefa Akgün were replaced by Diagne and Andrade respectively. Dia Saba was substituted in the seventy-seventh minute, having done enough to justify his two-goal haul.
The result leaves Ammed fifth in the table with six points from three games, having won two and lost one. Erzurum BB remain fourteenth with four points from four fixtures, their single win and draw unable to mask two defeats. The visitors' recent form — including a 3:1 victory over Al-Arabi — offered little comfort against this display.
Rayan Raveloson picked up a yellow card in the ninety-first minute, the only booking of the match. Ammed had already shown they could raise the tempo when they needed to, and Erzurum BB never got out of second gear despite their possession advantage. The old head settled them down, and the three points were never in doubt after that first goal.
