Guerra equalised just ten minutes later. J. Posada then turned the match with a goal in the sixty-fourth minute, and Platense could not find a response.
By then the visitors had already set up a game plan that suited their strengths. They held possession for sixty-one percent and created more chances, though they left plenty on the table. Six shots on target from Metapán yielded two goals, while Platense managed only one from two efforts on goal.
