Sorosar wrapped up their sixth fixture of the NБ II regular season with a comprehensive 6:0 victory over Čakovár at home on Sunday afternoon. The league leaders made no mistake against the bottom-placed visitors, extending their unbeaten run to eight matches. The result leaves them top of the table with 13 points from five games, while Čakovár remain rooted to 14th place with just three points.
D. Kuznyecov opened the scoring inside the first four minutes, and the hosts never looked back. A. Bagi doubled the advantage shortly before the quarter-hour mark, and B. Lovrencsics added a third just before half-time. By then, Čakovár had already surrendered the ball and got hit on the break more than once, but could not find a way back into the contest.
The visitors turned to the kids in the second half, bringing on three players at the restart. B. Somfalvi, D. Mészáros and B. Schmidtka all came on, but the game had already slipped away. A. Bagi grabbed his second goal in the 53rd minute, and K. Horvath followed up in the 61st to put the tie beyond doubt.
Things came to a head late on when A. Halmai sealed the rout in the 77th minute. The visitors managed only four shots off target all afternoon and failed to register a single effort on goal. Sorosar, meanwhile, recorded six shots on target from 108 attacks, and converted them with ruthless efficiency.
The statistics tell the story plainly. Possession sat at 60 per cent for the hosts, but it was the quality of their chances that mattered. Čakovár earned just one corner compared to four for Sorosar, and their goalkeeper was left exposed from the opening whistle. One mistake ends it when you face a side this clinical.
The win extends Sorosar's unbeaten run to eight matches and strengthens their grip on the summit. Čakovár cannot afford another slip — four defeats from five outings leaves them in a precarious position. The gap between the two sides has never looked wider.
