Tiszakecske FC

Two promotions in four years came out of the same third tier but by very different routes. In 2020–21 Tiszakécske FC won the eastern group of NB III with 94 points. The 2024–25 title in the south-eastern group took 66 points, and the play-off for a place in NB II went against them, and they went up anyway.

It has spent almost all of that time below the top flight. The exception was 1996–97, when Tiszakécske won NB II and reached NB I for the first time. They finished 15th the following season and went straight back down. A merger with a club from Cegléd followed in 1999–2000.

The single season in NB I left the club's attendance record, and it has stood since: 9,000 people at the Városi Stadion on 28 February 1998, for the visit of Újpest TE. The ground now holds 4,500.

Since 2015 the club has carried the name of its backer, Duna Aszfalt, and is often listed as Tiszakécskei LC. The yellow and blue predate all of that. So does the fixture that matters most in the town — the county derby with Kecskemét, where the table goes out of the window; Dunaújváros and Dabas were the more regular opponents in the third tier.

A town of Tiszakécske's size filled a stand twice over that February afternoon: 9,000 against 4,500 seats today.
