Sergei Karasev reinstated to referee Baltika vs Lokomotiv
Karasev returns to take charge of Baltika-Lokomotiv on 6 September after missing round 6; Danil Naboka also gets a fresh reserve appointment for Rostov-Fakel.
Sergei Karasev is back on the list of Russian Premier League referees. He has been appointed to take charge of Baltika against Lokomotiv, the round 7 fixture in Kaliningrad on 6 September.
Danil Naboka has also received a fresh appointment, as reserve official for Rostov against Fakel, played a day earlier. Both men had sat out round 6 of the RPL and the third round of the group stage of the Russian Cup's RPL Path.
In a video review of contentious moments, the refereeing and inspection department found fault with the officiating team, stating that the reserve referee and the video assistant referee should have reported the incident to the match referee.
"This is not the kind of incident in which VAR should intervene, since this offence is not among those that can affect the course of the match."
Under the Laws of the Game as approved by IFAB and applied worldwide, that would mean Karasev had no grounds to prompt referee Aleksei Sukhoy over the Talalaev incident in the first place. Whether he and Naboka were stood down over that episode at all, or missed the fixtures for unrelated reasons, remains unclear.
