Mostovoy Predicts 2:1 Win for Zenit Over Lokomotiv

Alexander Mostovoy gives Zenit a 55 per cent chance of beating Lokomotiv in Saturday's round-eight fixture at the Gazprom Arena: 55 per cent.

"For me, Zenit are favourites in the match with Lokomotiv. If it weren't for their unexpected defeats, I'd say the outcome was never in doubt. Because of that I'd rate their chances of winning at around 55 per cent," Mostovoy told Sport24.

On Stavka TV, he predicted a 2:1 home win.

Zenit sit fifth in the table on 12 points; Lokomotiv are 13th with six. Kick-off is at 16:15 Moscow time.

Valery Masalitin, the former CSKA forward, was not so sure. He pointed to CSKA and Rodina both taking their chances and asked why Lokomotiv could not do the same, citing their attacking group as a threat. He added that a lot may hinge on whether Andrey Mostovoy is fit to play against his parent club — the 28-year-old midfielder. 'Petersburg will be motivated, they'll want to prove they're in the title race. Lokomotiv have a chance to win,' Masalitin said.
