Zenit's Pedro Ranked Among Europe's Top U23 Midfielders
CIES Football Observatory places Zenit playmaker Pedro joint fifth among the continent's best attacking midfielders under 23 outside the top five leagues.
The CIES Football Observatory has published its list of the best attacking midfielders under 23 outside Europe's top five leagues this season, and Zenit's Pedro takes fifth.
The top spot went to 22-year-old Georgian midfielder Irakli Yegoyan of Excelsior, ahead of Bo Hegland (Djurgården), Prince Amaoko (Nordsjælland) and Okpo Mazi (Bravo).
Rounding out the top ten are Uros Miladinovic (Cukaricki), Julius Beck (Elfsborg), Jakob Romsøs (Charleroi) and Tom van Bergen (Groningen). Miladinovic, a 22-year-old Serbian midfielder, has yet to score since joining Cukaricki in July. Beck, also without a goal, moved to Elfsborg in February.
The list tracks potential, not current form. For Pedro, the ranking signals his performances at Zenit are attracting foreign interest.
