PAOK Reportedly Do Not Count on Fyodor Chalov, Says Journalist

Greek journalist Antonis Oikonomidis says the Russian striker is only nominally at PAOK and outside the coaching staff's plans after a meniscus injury.

PAOK do not count on Fyodor Chalov, according to Greek journalist Antonis Oikonomidis, who writes for The Guardian. The Russian striker is with the club "only nominally", Oikonomidis said, and is "effectively outside the coaching staff's plans".

"He will not be able to get back into the rotation, and no breakthrough should be expected from him. He had opportunities at PAOK, but he did not take them. That is why he was loaned out and why they tried to sell him in the last transfer window," Oikonomidis said. "It simply happens. When he played, he was not good. He never adapted to the requirements, although, as far as I know, he and his family live normally in Thessaloniki. Chalov joined PAOK in 2024 and has made 36 appearances for the club, scoring 4 goals. In July he damaged a meniscus in a friendly against Beveren, which PAOK won 4-1. Recovery after surgery was reported to take up to six months.
