About the player
Alexander Bah did not come through Benfica's academy. When the Portuguese club signed him from Slavia Prague on 7 June 2022 for a fee of €8 million, he went straight into the first-team squad.
Bah started out at Næsby Boldklub in 2016, before two seasons at HB Køge and then a spell at SønderjyskE from 2018 to 2020.
At Benfica, Bah wears the number 6 shirt. His original contract ran to 2027; on 17 December 2024, the club announced an extension that ties him to Benfica until 2029.
Bah was born in Årslev, Denmark. His career has taken him through Danish and Czech football without a single stop in Benfica's youth ranks.
