About the player
Hurtado moved to Independiente del Valle's academy in 2017 and made his first-team debut for the Ecuadorian club on 2 November 2019. A loan spell at Independiente Juniors followed in 2020 before he returned to Independiente del Valle at the end of that year. In the 2021 season he made 24 appearances and scored once.
RB Bragantino signed him on 17 January 2022 for a fee reported at €3.1m. He has been a regular at right-back since, making 16 appearances in his first season, 25 in 2023, 17 in 2024 and 28 in 2025, when he scored once. His market value is put at around €3m.
Hurtado made his senior international debut for Ecuador on 5 September 2021, in a World Cup qualifier against Chile. He was named in Ecuador's squad for the 2021 Copa América and returned to the squad for the 2024 edition of the tournament. By May 2026 he had won 10 caps without scoring for the national team.
