Andrés Yair Rentería Morelo

Andrés Yair Rentería Morelo turned professional at Atlético Nacional in 2012, but it was on loan at Alianza Petrolera that same year that he first stood out, finishing as top scorer of Colombia's second division with 14 goals. A move to Mexico followed at Santos Laguna, where he made over a hundred appearances and scored 23 goals, winning the Liga MX title, the Mexican Cup and the Campeón de Campeones. A loan spell back at Atlético Nacional in 2017 came with a buy-option clause worth four million dollars, underlining how highly the club rated him at that stage. His move to Argentina did not work out: San Lorenzo took him on loan in 2019 with an option to buy, but the deal was cancelled after just four matches. He found more continuity back in Colombia, first at Rionegro Águilas and later at Jaguares de Córdoba, whom he joined as a free agent in 2021. After spells at Deportes Tolima and Alianza Petrolera, he returned to Jaguares in 2025. Rentería has twice topped the scoring charts in Colombia's second tier since returning from Mexico, finishing top scorer in the Apertura and Clausura tournaments of 2025, in addition to his earlier scoring title in 2012. He also won the Mexican Cup's top-scorer award during his time at Santos Laguna. At international level, he represented Colombia's under-20 side at the Toulon Tournament, where the team took silver, and at the U-20 World Cup. His senior debut came in 2015 in a 6-0 win over Bahrain, in which he scored. He was later named in Colombia's squad for the 2016 Olympics, though injury forced his withdrawal before the tournament.
