About the player
Darwin Guillermo López's career has run through more clubs than most, but it keeps circling back to the same address. In January 2026 he returned to Jaguares de Córdoba for a third spell, having already worn the shirt from 2016 to 2019 and again in 2020–21. Few players at the club can claim that kind of loyalty across a decade.
The forward's early years are hard to pin down precisely — some records trace his start to Tigres Zipaquirá between 2012 and 2014, others place his roots at Jaguares itself. What is clear is that Patriotas FC gave him his first real taste of Colombia's top flight in 2015, and he split that same season with Deportes Tolima. It was at Jaguares, though, from 2016 onward, that he established himself as a regular.
His path since has taken him well beyond Córdoba. A move to Atlético Huila in 2021 was followed by a return to Patriotas, where he had his most productive scoring run, netting eight goals in 40 appearances between 2021 and 2022. Deportivo Pasto came next, then a rare step abroad: a stint at Zakho SC in Iraq in early 2024, followed by a switch to Ecuador's Macará later that year, where playing time was scarce.
Most of López's moves have come as a free agent rather than through fees, a pattern that reflects a career built on persistence rather than big-money interest. Back at Jaguares this year, he has featured in 20 matches and scored three goals, adding to a body of work that, wherever it has taken him, has always found its way home to Córdoba.
