Alejandro Tello came through Racing Club's academy at Predio Tita, the pipeline that continues to feed the club's first team. Racing's own sixth-division listing marks him as a defender, though other databases have him further forward as a holding midfielder — either way, he is built for the deeper positions on the pitch, reading the game rather than leading the line.

Tello spent 2025 out on loan at Defensores Unidos, the kind of spell clubs use to test a young player against senior opposition away from the pressure of the first-team picture. It clearly did him no harm: he returned to Racing and made his debut for the club in May 2026, first in the Copa Sudamericana against Independiente Petrolero on 27 May, then in the Liga Profesional itself. Since then he has featured five times in the league, with further appearances in the reserve division and the Copa Argentina.

His progress has run alongside international recognition. Tello has represented Argentina at under-15 and under-17 level, the latter including a place at the 2025 U17 World Cup, and has also featured for the under-20 side at the Cotif tournament. Racing gave him the number 46 shirt, the kind of high number that marks him out as one of the academy's newest arrivals rather than an established name — but with a debut season already behind him, that is likely to change.
