Matías Tagliamonte

Rafaela produced Matías Tagliamonte, but the goalkeeper's route to a top-flight club ran through injury and a long wait behind established keepers rather than a smooth rise. He began his professional career at Atlético Rafaela, making his first-team debut in October 2019 against Santamarina in the second division, though a shoulder injury limited him to just three appearances there. Racing Club signed him on loan in February 2021, with an option to buy, and he made his debut for the club the following month in a Copa Argentina tie against Sportivo Belgrano. Racing exercised that option before the year was out, taking 50% of his rights for 300,000 dollars. What followed was an unusual stretch: as third-choice goalkeeper, Tagliamonte collected two trophies, the 2022 Trofeo de Campeones and the 2022 Supercopa Internacional, without playing a single minute in either campaign. He did get onto the continental stage in August 2023, debuting in the Copa Libertadores against Atlético Nacional. With Racing's goalkeeping positions occupied, Tagliamonte spent much of the following two years out on loan in search of regular football. Tigre took him in January 2024, though that spell ended early when the loan was terminated; he then moved to Gimnasia y Esgrima de Mendoza for six months later that year, and spent 2025 on loan at Unión de Santa Fe. He is back at Racing Club now, wearing the number 30 shirt.
