Tomás José Conechny

Comodoro Rivadavia gave Argentine football few names before Conechny, and the forward built his own path to the game through the CAI academy before San Lorenzo picked him up as a teenager. He stayed with the youth ranks there for two years before breaking into the first team, where he made 14 appearances between 2016 and 2019.

The clearest mark he left came away from club football altogether. At the South American U-17 Championship in 2015, Conechny finished as the tournament's top scorer, a result that carried his name into Argentina's youth setup, where he went on to play 21 matches and score seven goals across various age groups.

His move abroad took him to Major League Soccer. Portland Timbers signed him on loan in 2018, and he made 12 appearances for the first team, scoring once, while also featuring for the club's affiliate side in the USL. Portland exercised the option to sign him permanently in 2019, though the arrangement ended when his contract was terminated in 2021.

He returned to South America that year, joining Uruguay's Deportivo Maldonado, where he made 25 appearances and scored once. A move back to Argentina followed at Almagro, where he made 37 appearances and scored four goals, work that eventually carried him to Alavés.
