Agustín dos Santos

At Club Nacional, Agustín dos Santos has spent most of his career one age group up on the calendar. He arrived at the club's academy in 2021 from Club Atlético Universitario in his native Salto, and by 2022 he was already lifting a national title with the under-14 side after winning both the Torneo Apertura and the Campeonato Uruguayo. Two more youth championships followed: the Torneo Clausura with the under-16s in 2024, and the Uruguayan title with the under-19s in 2025.

He signed his first professional contract in 2024, and his breakthrough at first-team level came the following year. Dos Santos made his senior debut on 16 August 2025, coming on as a substitute against Progreso, and earned his first start on 4 October against Cerro Largo. One moment from his youth days still stands out: a goal against Peñarol in the 2024 under-16 Clausura, in a match Nacional won 4-1.

He has also represented Uruguay at youth level, with call-ups across the under-15, under-17 and under-18 categories, including South American championship appearances.

His rise has not gone unnoticed by clubs beyond Uruguay. In February 2026, Nacional opened talks over selling 60% of his economic rights for 4.5 million dollars, though the move did not go through and he stayed at the club. Celtic have also been credited with interest in the playmaker. For now, dos Santos remains a product of Nacional's academy working his way into regular first-team football, with ten senior appearances to his name and no goals yet at that level.
