Agustín Maximiliano Rogel Paita

Agustín Rogel came through the Nacional academy in Montevideo and made his first-team debut in 2017, the year he also won the South American Under-20 Championship with Uruguay in Ecuador. That tournament put him on clubs' radars abroad, and within a year he had moved to Russia, joining Krylia Sovetov.

Toulouse paid around €2.5 million for him in 2019, a fee that marked him out as one of the more expensive Uruguayan defensive exports of his generation. A loan spell at Estudiantes de La Plata followed in 2021 before Hertha BSC signed him permanently in 2022 for €700,000, taking him into the Bundesliga.

His time in Berlin included a loan to Internacional in Brazil in 2024, where he added a Campeonato Gaúcho winner's medal to his record. Hertha eventually let him leave without a transfer fee in 2025, though the German club kept a 10% sell-on clause, and Rogel returned to Nacional, the side where he started out.

At international level, his path to the senior Uruguay team took longer than his early promise suggested: after the 2017 youth title, he had to wait until 2022 for his first and, so far, only cap for the full national side.
