Alan Saldivia

Alan Saldivia left Chile in January 2026 with a Copa Chile, a league title and a Supercopa on his record.

The route out of Uruguay began at Defensor Sporting, where he came through the academy. By 2023 he was a fixture in the first team. His work that season earned him a place in the Chilean championship's Ideal Team.

The numbers from Santiago are those of a defender who played and kept playing: 54 league matches, 16 in cup competitions. No goals in any of them.

Vasco da Gama moved for him in January 2026. The fee was put at around $2.5 million, though the structure of the deal drew some attention — a reported buyout of $4 million for 70% of his rights was not how the transfer was finally arranged.

He settled quickly into the Brazilian schedule, which spreads a defender thin across four competitions at once. By April 2026 he had 23 appearances for Vasco: 11 in Série A, six in the Campeonato Carioca, four in the Copa Sudamericana and two in the Copa do Brasil.

Internationally he has represented Uruguay at under-23 level, four caps in all, among them the 2023 Pan American Games. The senior side has not called.
