Renan himself arrived as a free agent after his Corinthians contract was terminated, so no fixed fee was ever published. Corinthians kept 11 per cent of any future resale, and Novorizontino — where he had started out in the academy in 2018 — kept 9 per cent.

He had joined the Corinthians academy in 2019 and reached the senior side in 2022, playing between 10 and 13 matches. At Zenit he made 13 to 18 appearances and collected the Russian championship in 2022/23 and the Russian Super Cup in 2023.

Brazil called him up twice in 2023, in March and June, for friendlies against Morocco, Guinea and Senegal. He did not come off the bench in any of them, and his senior international record still reads zero caps.

The loans came quickly after that. Internacional took him for 2024, paying his wages of around 350,000 reais a month with no fee to Zenit and no purchase option; he played 31 official matches. In September Zenit cut the deal short and sent him to Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia for a reported €3m, where he made 31 to 35 appearances.

Vasco da Gama took him on loan from Zenit in August 2025, through to the end of 2026, for around €1m, with an option to buy 70 per cent of his economic rights for €8m.
