Alejandro Samudio

Alejandro Samudio built his career on loan spells, moving away from and back to Sportivo Ameliano before establishing himself as a first-team option. His stint away from home was a productive one: he won the Copa Paraguay in 2020 while on loan at Sportivo Ameliano from Guaraní, a trophy that stands as the clearest mark on his record so far.

After his return, he continued to feature for Sportivo Ameliano, including an appearance in the 2024 Copa Sudamericana, before making the switch to Nacional Asunción.

Samudio has also worked his way into the Paraguay national set-up. He started at under-19 level, where he collected two caps, before graduating to the senior side. There, he has made 13 appearances, scoring twice and adding an assist — modest numbers, but enough to show he has been given a look by the national coaching staff.

A right-footed forward who operates comfortably on the wing, Samudio's game has been built more on movement and end product in patches than on any single defining moment. His career so far reads as one of steady accumulation: a title won away from his parent club, a recall to the side that developed him, and international caps picked up along the way, rather than one dramatic breakthrough.
