About the player
Football runs in the family. Alexander Johansson is the son of Andreas Johansson, who played for Djurgårdens IF, and Alexander grew up in Stockholm supporting the same club. He made his senior debut in Ettan Norra, the third tier of Swedish football, at the age of 15, playing for IFK Stocksund.
His form for Stocksund carried into the 2026 season, when he scored five goals and set up another five in 14 appearances. In April 2026 he was named Talent of the Month in Ettan Norra. He has also featured for Sweden's youth national teams, with 21 caps and four goals at those levels by the time he left Stocksund.
BK Häcken and IK Sirius both showed interest, but in July 2026 Johansson signed for Djurgårdens IF as a free agent, putting pen to paper on a deal running to 2029. The move brought him to the club he had followed since childhood.
At 16, he arrives at Djurgården with senior league experience already behind him and a scoring record from his time at Stocksund that persuaded the club to move ahead of its rivals.
