About the player
Alonso Olguín's move to Colo-Colo's academy in 2025 came about after a friendly against the club's youth side went the wrong way for his own team. Playing for the Panquehue football school, the defender scored three goals — all into his own net — as his side lost 4-3. Colo-Colo signed him regardless.
Born in Panquehue in the Valparaíso region, Olguín trained at the local football school until the move. He is left-footed and wears the number 3 shirt at Colo-Colo.
His clearest impact so far has come with Chile's under-17 side. At the CONMEBOL Sudamericano Sub-17 in Colombia in 2025, he scored twice against Peru on 31 March, including an Olympic goal direct from a corner. Days later, against Paraguay on 5 April, he converted a penalty in the 100th minute that proved decisive and sent Chile through to the Under-17 World Cup in Qatar.
He had already featured for Colo-Colo's youth ranks at the Torneo Canteras de América in 2024. His first taste of senior football arrived in 2026, when he made his professional debut against Deportes Limache.
