Jeyson Alejandro Rojas Orellana

Luis Mena was the one who spotted Jeyson Rojas at a trial in 2015 and waved him into Colo-Colo's academy. He worked his way through every level of the youth system before making his first-team debut on 3 October 2020, aged 18. He started out as a midfielder, and it was only later at the club that he was moved back to right-back, with spells in central defence as well.

Rojas has now made 105 appearances for Colo-Colo, scoring twice, spread across six seasons since his debut. His busiest campaign so far came this year, with 30 appearances for the club. In between, the club sent him out on loan twice to test him at a higher level of responsibility elsewhere.

The first loan, to Unión Española in 2024, was brief — nine games and a goal. The second, to Deportes La Serena across the whole of 2025, gave him a far heavier workload: 34 matches in all competitions, 29 of them as a starter, with a goal and four assists. That spell, running from late January to the end of December, marked his first real season as an established starter rather than a squad option. He returned to Colo-Colo once it finished, with his contract at the club now running to the end of 2027.

Rojas has also been capped by Chile, making his senior international debut on 9 December 2021 against Mexico, a game that finished goalless before Chile came out on top on penalties. He has four caps to date and is yet to score for the national side.
