About the player
Seven goals in 27 Regionalliga Südwest appearances made Amin Farouk's final season at FSV Frankfurt his most productive, and it ended with a move up a division. He left for SC Verl on a free transfer effective 1 July 2026, signing until 30 June 2028, and has taken the number 7 shirt. Three appearances into the 3. Liga campaign, he has already scored once.
The route there ran through the two clubs of his youth and early twenties. Farouk started at 1. FSV Mainz 05, in the city where he was born, and left in 2014 for SV Wehen Wiesbaden, where he came up through the age groups until 2021 and then joined the senior squad.
The Frankfurt connection began as a loan. In January 2023 he moved there for the rest of the 2022/23 season and won the Hessen Cup; he then went back to Wiesbaden for the following campaign before returning to FSV Frankfurt permanently in July 2023 on a one-year deal. He won the Hessen Cup a second time in 2024/25, that one with Wehen Wiesbaden.
Farouk is ambidextrous. He holds both German and Egyptian citizenship, and has not been capped at senior or youth level by either country.
None of his moves have involved a fee — each was either a youth promotion or a free transfer, including the one that took him to Verl.
